Mother's Day 2012 and Chemo-Treatment #9

Me and my siblings with most spouses were together with Mom on Saturday
The day before Mother's Day.  I think she looks good at 91 years!

Our first-born daughter, "Frankie", giving her Mom flowers for Mother's Day

Our last-born daughter, Tabitha (aka: The Pet) sent this Beautiful "in-depth" card
with a gift card inside!

Our middle daughter, Ruthie (aka: The Favrite One) had taken me to the
Oncology Department for treatment #9.  She also went by Cap'n D's and brought
a complete fish dinner to our home on Sunday so Mom did not have to cook!

Our first-born child gave me this Tee-shirt to encourage me to "Crush Cancer"

After chemo-treatment #9, Frances had boiled eleven squirrels for me!
This is highly recommended treatment for cancer! By whom?
Me - Of course!  Only 4 more treatments to go!!!

OMW do you really eat squirrels, Fred? Happy Mother's day to your mom and your beautiful Frances. (What beautiful gifts your daughters gave her) Yes, like Frances, I always run the difficult errands, like government related issues and ones that need lots of diplomacy. Thanks for all your visits to my blog. I think Game and Shoprite in Dar are quite new additions to the city and to EA. Oh I LOVE the tee-shirt your daughter gave you to "CRUSH CANCER". I'll add one, "In Jesus name, be gone Cancer!" Well done on reaching your last four treatments. You're looking well, I hope you're feeling well! Bless you and dearest Frances. Jo (PS I love all your Swahili expressions and the stories of EA on my blog. Thanks)

So happy to see your post, Fred. I've been praying for you and hoping you've been doing OK! Yay...only four more to go!!
How nice to spend Mother's Day with your lovely mom and wife...a blessing!
I like squirrel, but I haven't had it since I was a little girl. My dad and brother both like to hunt, so we never knew what they might come back with...squirrel, turkey, deer. Mom could always make it taste good! Hope you enjoy your week. :)

Oh my friend, what a great family photo, and of course mama looks great. I love that woman, anyone who asks me to speak to her 'congregation', has got to be sane and sharp as a tack at 90+!!!
YOu are looking well, hope to get over there in a month or so for a visit.
I am taking Sherry to the MTS for three weeks for re-cooping with the broke wing. Just having one wing hurts an angel.
Good to see the alert for your blog.

Love you Bro....
PS, the squirrel sounds delicious, I miss it.!!!

Hi Fred, I thought I had left a comment on this post already. Sometimes they seem to vanish into thin air, lol.

I just wanted to say it looks like you all enjoyed Mother's Day. It's so great that your dear mom is still with you and she does look good!

I've never eaten a squirrel before. Did you eat all 11 by yourself! LOL. I do like your "Crush Cancer" t-shirt and my thoughts and prayers are still with you. You are now nearing the end of your cancer treatments "whoo whoo". God bless.

About Me

My photo
Cleveland, TN, United States
I am Fred Alton Brannen, the son of Louis A. Brannen (deceased) and Bonnie Jones Brannen, Louis was an Ordained Bishop with the Church of God. Bonnie is an Ordained Licensed Minister and at 89 years of age is still actively engaged in speaking and singing engagements. I am married to the former Frances Hildreth. We celebrated 53 years of marriage this past June and we are the parents of 3, grand-parents of 10, and great-grandparents of 10. I pastored in Tennessee for 24 years and served the Church in some capacity in missions for over 23 years. I retired from full-time ministry in August of 2008 but remain active, speaking and singing and teaching whenever opportunity affords itself. In January of 2010 I received a letter of commendation for having been credentialed as a minister in the Church of God for 50 years! My family is very important to me. Our get togethers are always noisy affairs and most times will include family sing-alongs. The children love their Mom's cooking so we have the privilege of seeing them regularly! WE LOVE having them over.
